Shell-and-tube heat exchangers

Straight-tube, U-tube and safety designs for liquid and gaseous media. Standard series for short delivery, and customised units built to your specification.

How it is built

Seven parts, one pressure envelope.

Hot medium on one side, cold on the other, separated by the tube wall. Baffles push the shell-side flow across the bundle instead of straight past it.

Model series

Pick by duty, not by catalogue page.

Each series was developed for a particular job.

BCF / CCF / SSCFUniversal

Universal fluid coolers

Modular series for general heat engineering, commonly used as coolers for oil, water and other operating fluids.

  • Exchange surface0.11 – 11.45 m²
  • Building sizes110 graduated
  • BundleFixed (F) or removable (P)
  • Tube passes1, 2 or 4 (fixed bundle)
TDWTurbo-Spin

Compact hydraulic oil coolers

Developed for cooling hydraulic oils and hydraulic replacement fluids. Helical screws generate a spin-shaped shell-side oil flow.

  • Exchange surface0.15 – 4.00 m²
  • BundleRemovable
  • VersionsO (liquid oils), W (viscid)
  • VariantsTDWT tank, TDWF filter
CCFA / SSCFAGas cooling

Gas coolers

A development of the BCF series for gas duty — gas through the tubes, cooling water counter-flow on the shell side.

  • BundleFixed
  • Tube sideSingle-pass
  • Fitting positionHorizontal or vertical
  • Typical useInter- and after-coolers
SWF / SSWFSafety

Safety heat exchangers

Three-chamber devices where each internal tube carries a second, smaller tube. The radial gaps form a sealed safety space filled with barrier fluid and monitored for pressure change.

  • PurposePrevents media mixing
  • BundleFixed (F) or removable (P)
  • MonitoringPressure control device
  • OptionATEX pressure control
CPS · CPTEMA-based

Standard and universal coolers

CPS was developed on the basis of TEMA type BEW as a standardised alternative to a fully customised unit. CP is the universal cooler with removable bundle, mainly used as an oil or double oil cooler.

  • CPS surface0.47 – 104.02 m²
  • TubesStraight
  • BundleRemovable
  • CP mediaOil on shell, water in tubes
WRA 200 · A 100Special

Exhaust gas and gas coolers

WRA 200 recovers heat from the exhaust gases of stationary combustion engines in block-type power stations. A 100 is a dedicated gas cooler and dryer with a removable bundle.

Applications

Where these units end up.

Oil and water cooling

The most common duty — cooling oil, water or other operating fluids in machine and plant engineering.

Hydraulic systems

Compact coolers for hydraulic oils and replacement fluids, including tank-mounted and filter-cooler versions.

Compressed gas

Intermediate and after-coolers on multi-stage compressors, and individual coolers wherever gas must be cooled or dried.

Heat recovery

Recovering heat from the exhaust gases of stationary combustion engines running on diesel, natural gas, digester gas or vegetable oil.

Separation-critical duties

Where the two media must not mix — for environmental protection, health protection, or the cost of contaminated fluids.

High-pressure process gas

Customised process gas coolers are produced for operating pressures of 600 bar and above.

The range

What is in this family.

Standard series

Preselected geometries in graduated sizes, for short delivery.

Customised units

Built to company specification or to international design standards.

Safety exchangers

Three-chamber design with a monitored barrier space between media.
